Hey @angels fans. It’s me. The guy that’s kinda obsessed with the team. So here we are. About to clinch a post-season berth and only a few days away from TAKING BACK THE WEST! I’m sure you’re all stoked. I know I am.
Here’s the thing, it’s been FIVE years since we’ve been to the post-season. A lot has happened in five years. Five years ago I didn’t have this ridiculous goatee. Five years ago, I think I followed like 2 people on Twitter. Five years ago, Mike Trout was a nobody. Five years ago, we all experienced heartbreak.
Times have changed and the Angels are OH SO CLOSE to taking back what’s rightfully theirs and owning the AL West. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to party, which segues into an awesome idea.
The Angels ARE CLINCHING this week. It’s a fact. I don’t know when. I don’t know against who. I don’t know where you’ll be (hopefully at the game). All I know is that we live in a world where we can capture some amazing moments on our phones, cameras and Go-Pros and live that moment FOREVER. So let’s make this special, yeah?
So, fellow Halo fans, I need your help. I don’t care where you’re at or who you’re with, but I want you to record your reaction when the team finally clinches. Whether it’s at your home or the stadium, with your significant other or alone, I DON’T CARE. “But Ricardo, I love the team but I gotta feed my cats.” DAMNIT THE INTERNET LOVES CATS! JUST RECORD YOURSELF YELLING WITH EXCITEMENT! “But Ricardo, I’m going on a first date with this guy I’ve been hoping would take me out on one.” IF HE DOESN’T LIKE THE ANGELS THEN HE DOESN’T DESERVE YOUR HEART. Point is, I want to get everyone’s awesome/unique reaction and put it in one video.
Spread the word. I want this video to be AWESOME and show the world how Angel fans celebrate. Be weird, classy, funny, emotional or whatever you want. I don’t want to tell you how to party. I will say RECORD IT HORIZONTAL! The deadline to submit your video is going to be 24 HOURS AFTER THEY CLINCH! I want to get a fast turn around and share it with you all this weekend.
Until then, enjoy the ride and celebrate responsibly!
P.S. It’s probably easy for you to share your awesome moment by Dropboxing it to me. Tweet me @iBlogBetter if you need some help and I’ll be giving out some more info there too!
Gonna give VLOGing a shot. I don’t know if my life is all the super interesting but here ya go.
Episode 1: Brother/Sister Day Out. I decided to surprise my sister with a bunch of things while heading to an Angels game I think it worked out pretty well.
I’ve been kinda busy this past month. Work has kind of consumed my life and I’m TOTALLY ok with that. Only bummer is not enough time to head to Angel games but hey, WHEN they make it to the World Series then I’ll have money to go.
So what the hell have I been doing? Well, a ton of shit actually. I got a new job. That’s cool. Here’s a picture of stuff on my desk…
Finally got to meet and hang with the coolest dude ever, Bill Hanstock aka sundownmotel on Twitter and writer for SB Nation. For weeks he’s been trying to get me to meet him at a PWG show and I’ve always had something come up. I finally got a ticket and found out that super stud and massively cool Angels fan Joey Ryan was actually wrestling on the bill. So look at that. Double the fun. Here’s a few pics from that rad night…
I would’ve snapped some photos of Joey but I was WAY too invested in the no holds bar match where BLOOD WAS SPEWING EVERYWHERE! It was absolutely insane.
Went to a few Angel games. Including the 398 hour long game…
And finally crushed some delicious grub at the OC Fair…
Don’t mind my face. I just always look like an idiot.
So now what? Welp, I’m going to try and do some more blogging and possibly jump into the whole YouTube world. Kind of debating about Vlogging or doing some sketch videos but time isn’t my friend. Being involved in the YouTube world has actually been really cool and kinda of inspiring to say the least. YES I KNOW THAT SOUNDS CHEESY BUT WHO CARES. Anyways, I feel like more creative stuff is coming and hopefully I can REVAMP AND BRING MORE WONDER BAT STUFF! Mina has been super rad with keeping it alive and and getting on Danny and I about writing. So I’m really stoked about that and looking forward to what happens.
That’s life in a nutshell. More posts should be coming. More rants. More Videos. MORE EVERYTHING. So be on the look out for that. Now, I gotta lose some weight for the 20 weddings I’m going to within the next year.
Stay weird and posivibes, my friends.
Had the absolute pleasure of attending this year’s Angels Win Softball Tournament. Pretty awesome time out at the field and kinda wished I actually played. BUT THAT’S WHAT I GET FOR NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON. Anyways, here are a few unedited pics.
I like the internet. It’s a fun place. I use it for a lot of things like looking at pictures of pizza, watching Japanese players throw an ephus pitch and proving my friends wrong when they say that Adrien Brody wasn’t in Angels in the Outfield. WHY DOES HE HAVE AN IMDB CREDIT FOR IT THEN?! ANSWER ME THAT, THEO. Plus, if you want to look for real-time results of a corgi wearing a top hat, then there ya go.
Another great thing about the internet is
catfishing making connections with random strangers. You can literally search for “Angel fans” on Twitter and instantly be connected with millions of people tweeting about the team. It’s awesome. It’s actually one of the reason how I befriended most of you. Which is why YOU, yes even you, need to go to the Angels first ever Social Media Night. Here are a few reasons why:
It’s an Angels game ya dummy
What’s better than going to an Angels game? NOTHING. I’ll give you a minute to think of something. *waits a minute* SEE YOU HAVE NOTHING. Going to a game is why summer was invented. “But Ricardo, summer was actually invented by meteorologists to divide different equinoxes and solstices” NOPE. /grabs science /drop kicks it. Summer was invented because BASEBALL IS THE GREATEST. Going to a baseball game with family, friends and strangers while eating a hot dog and breathing in that fresh cut grass (or astroturf if you’re in a dome) and getting mad at the marine layer when a ball doesn’t go over the wall is the best way to spend a summer day/night. “I don’t know Ricardo. True love is pretty cool” KNOCK IT OFF RYAN GOSLING.
The Human Connection
I like tweeting, facebooking, instagraming, pinteresting, myspacing and friendstering as much as the next person but sometimes you just gotta make a human connection with people you tweet to during EVERY GAME. Going to this social media night allows you to put a face on who you’ve been tweeting to while watching Mike Trout win at life. “But Ricardo, I follow them on Instagram so I can already put a face on them” MOM DON’T INTERRUPT ME. Valid point but why don’t you go to this Social Media Night and be posted WITH THEM in their instagram pic. Then your friends are going to be like “OH MY GAWD YOU MET (Insert name of cute girl/boy) THAT IS SO COOL!) Also, you need people to make some Vines with because your cat can only be in so many.
Not going to lie, I hate going to games when the crowd isn’t backing the team to my liking. I like to cheer, chant and show my support for the guys when I’m at the Big A. If this section were to sell-out, can you image how much noise the A’s are going to hear? They’re gonna forfeit because of how nuts Section 134 is going on Social Media Night. “Ricardo, no team has ever forfeited because of how loud a section got” YEA GENIUS AND I’M SURE THEY SAID THAT WHEN THEY FIRST TALKED ABOUT GOING TO THE MOON. We can be the first! We’ll go down in the history books as the fans that were so loud (and very respectable) that made a team quit. Like they say in the greatest movie ever, IT COULD HAPPEN.
Your opportunity to be HEARD
One of the biggest complaints I hear from people is that the team doesn’t do much on Social Media. “Ricardo, I want more content. Ricardo, the team needs more Vines. Ricardo, I love you.” BUY ME DINNER FIRST SAILOR. Listen, the team is making a huge step by having this Social Media Night and that is absolutely awesome. I love the fact that they’re embracing the social media community because let’s face it, #AngelsFamily is pretty strong. You want them to make more content with the players? Well my answer is simply come to this and let’s make some Vines and tweet out pics of us having a good time. I don’t know who’s going to be there or how this night is going to turn out, but you going to this shows the organization that the social media world is a pretty awesome place and maybe seeing section 134 sell out will make them realize that they need to make more fan friendly content.
Social Media has and will always be rad to me. It’s provided me with some insane opportunities and connected me with people I don’t think would ever talk to me or I would have ever met. I’ve seen other teams host Social Media nights and their fans always have a blast and can’t wait for the next one. This night is probably gonna sell out and you don’t want to be left at home with the regret of not being in that section. So go buy tickets RIGHT MEOW! I’m talking a fathead or two and I want to meet some new faces. Plus I’m making a little video out of the night and that should hopefully be rad.
Hope to see you there!
